James & Beth

Another incredible wedding on a hot August summer’s day at the unique wedding venue Ash Barton Estate in North Devon.

For me, it was a special occasion as I had my wife Alix back with me as my second shooter, I feel she always brings the best out of me when we work together. I left Alix with the bride and bridesmaids for the morning as I took some time to capture the wedding dress and the wedding rings in area around the venue. I was also able to dart between the girls in the mirror filled house and the guys in the games filled barn; table football, pool tables, a basketball court and trampoline – what more could you want the morning of your wedding day!

Once the guests had arrived, mingled and said their hellos over a glass of champagne, everyone made their way down the longest wedding aisle in the UK. The golden meadow provided the perfect backdrop for their idyllic mid summer Devon wedding, with all the sights and smells you expect from country living.

After the ceremony, the happy couple made their way back to the stunning walled garden, where drinks and aperitifs were served in the sunshine. This was the perfect location for the wedding party group shot. So I did my best acrobatics out the top floor window and got the aerial photo capturing the entire party. As requested by James & Beth once we’d made our way through the list of traditional group shots, it was time to cool off in the shade of the barn where the wedding breakfast, speeches and cutting the cake filled the afternoon in their Glastonbury inspired themed barn, complete with ‘Glastonmarry’ table plan!

Ash Barton’s signature disco floor is one of my favourite locations for wedding parties, it’s full of colour, light and creates the best party photos, and James & Beth treated their guests to a fantastic choreographed first dance to start their festival wedding party!

Congratulations James & Beth!
